Open enrollment for qualified individual health plans through the Affordable Care Act runs between November 1st - December 15th for the following year. Open enrollment allows you to choose a new health plan or make changes to your current plan.

If you miss the open enrollment deadline, but have a Qualified Life Change Event, you may qualify for a special enrollment period. The Qualified Life Change Events include:

  • Having a baby or adopting a child
  • Experiencing a death of the insurer in the family
  • Losing health insurance coverage due to job loss
  • Losing eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, or Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP+)
